"The Challenge" - for new to endurance & novice riders 


NSW Endurance would like to share the below opportunity with our members. "The Challenge" is a private initiative* aimed at encouraging riders to participate in 40km and 80km rides during the 2023 endurance season. If you are new to endurance (you don't need to have completed any events yet), or are a novice rider, you will be eligible to participate. 


* NSW Endurance is not affiliated with or involved in the running of The Challenge.


As a new endurance rider, you may also be eligible to participate in the NSW Endurance Step Up program. You can find out more information about the Step Up program, here. You can participate in both the Step Up program and The Challenge if you are eligibile. 


Entries for The Challenge close on the 1st of February 2023, so register your interest now!

Regeneration and Growth workshop summary 


A summary of the Regeneration and Growth workshop that was held in Bathurst on the 26th November 2022 has been prepared by Annette Bailey.

We are excited to see these brilliant ideas develop into the future. 

Regeneration and Growth workshop
Thank you to everyone who attended the NSWERA Regeneration and Growth workshop. It was a very successful day, with lots of great ideas generated, discussed and workshopped. Thank you to Tony Marshall for moderating the day. 
A summary of the workshop is being put together and will be emailed to the members who attended. Pending any changes, the summary will also be published on Facebook and our website.

Grants for ride organisers
Attention ride organisers! Please see the below grants you may be eligible for.
The Local Sport Grant Program is one of the NSW Government’s key grassroots sporting initiatives. The minimum amount available for any individual grant is $2,000 and a maximum of $10,000.
Up to $43 million in funding for eligible community sport infrastructure projects in 74 eligible LGAs that were included in the Australian Government declared natural disasters from:
22 February 2022 onwards: NSW severe weather and flooding disaster. Australian Government Reference Number (AGRN) 1012.
27 June 2022 onwards: NSW floods and storms. AGRN 1025.
3. If your club experienced loss/damages due to the 2022 floods, you may be eligible for a Flood Assistance Grant under the Essential Community Sport Assets Program.

At the NSW State Championships 2022, two teams events were held for 160km riders - the State of Origin, and the Unrestricted teams event.

2022 NSW state representative team - State championship 160km


NSWERA is seeking nominations from riders who would like to represent NSW in the teams competition at the NSW State Championship ride. This competition is separate to the State of Origin


The state team will consist of 4 riders and 1 reserve, preferably including at least one middleweight and one heavyweight rider. 


Any current NSWERA member may nominate. Nominations must be made on this application form (below) and must reach the NSWERA Secretariat by midnight 19th August 2022.

2023 NSW State Championship - Expressions of Interest 


NSWERA is seeking expressions of interest (EOI) from committees interested in running the 2023 NSW State Championships. 


Committees are encouraged to read the EOI and Event Agreement documents available below. Submitting an EOI will not lock you into any obligations, but will start dialogue between your committee and the SMC.

State of Origin teams competition - Nominate now!


NSWERA has invited Victoria and Queensland to come to the NSW State Championships 2022 160km and compete in a teams competition - the State of Origin. 

 NSW SMC is seeking the following nominations:


1. Riders who would like to represent NSW in the 160km event. While there are some specifications for the "ideal" candidate, all members entering the 160km event will be considered. 

 2. A team coordinator.
