Endurance Tips and Tricks
In 2020, we held online introduction to endurance sessions. There were 9 sessions in total, which were well attended and facilitated by experienced endurance riders.
You can read the notes from the sessions by cycling through the slides below. Click on the title to open the notes - they will open as a PDF.
What saddle should I use?
This is one of the most common questions people ask when getting started.
The simple answer is - the best saddle is the one that fits you and your horse.
There aren't any saddle restrictions. You can ride in a stock/english/western/treeless saddle, etc.
You can even ride bareback if you want to!
How can I meet local endurance riders?
Endurance can seem daunting to start on your own. If you need some extra encouragement or support, why not reach out to endurance riders in your area via the below methods.
Volunteer at a local event. See the endurance calendar here.
Reach out to your local zone endurance club. Contact details can be found our Contacts page.
